Elena Uriz Arangoa

Artista visual

Visual Artist

Elena Uriz Arangoa is a visual artist based in Pamplona, specializing in acrylic painting, mixed media, and contemporary portraiture. Her work explores the human figure—specifically the portrait—as a narrative space where gaze, identity, and presence converge. For years, her primary medium of expression was music—a legacy shaped by her father’s passion. However, the lockdown awakened a need for expression that had remained latent since her childhood: painting. Elena views the portrait not as a mere copy of reality, but as a space for encounter. She is particularly drawn to the gaze and the psychological intensity a face can hold, seeking to capture both what is revealed and what remains hidden. Through experimentation with materials, she creates works with a powerful emotional resonance, capable of forging a direct, intimate, and sincere connection with the viewer. With a career that continues to grow, her work has been selected for various art competitions this year and featured in international venues, including the *Portrait International Online Group Exhibition 2026* at No.35 Gallery (London) and the *Amarillo* (Yellow) International Virtual Exhibition hosted by Galería Artelibre.
